Photo: Ha An Hanoi police said Wednesday they had taken into custody a man who outrageously broke 334 ceramic incense burners in a public cemetery after his wife filed for divorce and upset him.  Nguyen Trung Kien, 32, is being investigated on charge of “intruding on graves.” At around 7:30 p.m. on April 29, Kien reportedly came to the cemetery of Y La Village in Ha Dong District and smashed the incense burners placed in front of 334 different graves. He also wrote offensive lines on the wall of the cemetery’s funeral home. He signed under the name of the deputy principal of a school where his wife is teaching. There were no security guards in the cemetery at that time. Kien at the police station He was not caught that evening, but turned himself to police on May 4. Kien said his wife Nguyen Hong Duyen recently wanted to divorce him after 10 years of marriage due to their conflicts. He refused to divorce and suspected that the deputy principal talked Duyen into leaving him.  He explained that he broke the incense burners and wrote the offensive lines to frame the deputy principle for the destructive act and tarnish his reputation.
