Sasco shop, the service facility at
On Thursday, Tuoi Tre returned to the facility
to see if the company had done what its chief officer promised, after taking
a number of complaints from passengers who had to pay triple the street
prices to enjoy what they blasted as ‘the most terrible food’ from Sasco.
And the company had made changes.
The bread with fried sausage, which used to cost
VND49,000, is now available at VND33,000 and is contained in a plastic box
instead of being wrapped in a plastic bag. The price of the vermicelli dish
was also slightly lower, down from VND49,000 to VND45,000 a bowl.
The breads are beautifully made, and will be warmed
before being served to customers.
While the shop used to only serve undercooked instant
noodles with several thin slices of beef meatball that fetched VND49,000 a
bowl, this dish has been completely removed from the menu.
Instead, there is a wide range of dishes, from hu
tieu nam vang, vermicelli with pork, chicken, and beef, to cooked rice
with different types of meats.
Most of the food is served in clean, white ceramic
bowls instead of the melamine eating utensils as before.
The facility’s kitchen has also been equipped with a
new microwave oven, a grill oven, and four cookers used for keeping the broth
warm.
Cao Huu Minh Nhut, director of the Sasco shopping mall,
said the company held a meeting to improve things after talking with Tuoi
Tre on Wednesday.
“We immediately implemented some changes to the service
on Thursday,” he said.
Nhut said the Sasco facilities at the terminal now
serve more than 30 types of fast food that are clean and carefully prepared.
