Nhan Dan Online- JICA will support to install the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) at Bach Mai Hospital and its 2 satellite hospitals as well as to help these hospitals in training for related medical staffs on operation and maintenance of system.
This is under the Minutes of Meeting on the Jica funded project “Pilot Survey for Disseminating Small and Medium Enterprises Technologies for The Telemedicine Cooperation using Information and Communication (ICT)” signed this morning between the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) and Bach Mai Hospital.
Via PACS, the CT images, X-ray films and MRI will be easily shared and controlled between radiology department and other departments of Bach Mai Hospital and as well as between Bach Mai Hospital and its satellite hospitals in real-time.
“The distant medical co-operation has helped to strengthen medical services in remote areas in Japan where lack of medical staff, therefore, we do hope that this technology will be a solution for improving hospital overload at central level and easing the cost burden of patient because the patients can save moving expenses and time,” said Mori Mutsuya, JICA Vietnam Chief Representative.
With the history of 20 years of co-operation in health sector in Vietnam, this is the first JICA Project for the application of Information Technology in the health sector. This project is conducted under the new JICA’s scheme of “Pilot Survey for Dissemination SME’s Technologies”, expecting to contribute to developing countries by utilising Japanese SME’s Technologies.
