The fire came from the first floor, burned a lot of furniture and spread to the upper floors of the six-storey house. Nine people could not escape from the house and five of them died on the way to hospital. The victims include Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ti, the shop owner’s mother and four kids of 5, 8 and 10 years old. In an effort to extinguish the fire, one fire-fighter was injured. The authorities are examining the scene and seeking the cause. They have also granted urgent funds to the family.
