The District 2-based Saigon Outcast
bar will present a jazz music show by candlelight on June 26.
It will feature saxophonist David
Aaron Wilson, bassist Phuong Yinyang, drummer Hiep Thieu and pianist Maks
Filippov.
The event starts at 7.30pm at
DJs from Singapore-based Mugic
Soundsystem will host its seventh anniversary celebration at The Observatory
on Saturday.
Artists Ulysses, Kentaro, Mislav and
Dang will play electronic dance music genres from jazz funk and afro beat to
techno, house and disco.

The event, to be held at the Saigon
Exhibition and Convention Centre, will highlight Dutch DJ and music producer
Headhunterz, who started his career in 2005 and has performed at popular
electronic music festivals Electric Daisy Carnival and Tomorrowland.
Local artists including rapper
Boogie, DJ Thuan Hoang, duo SlimV and Nimbia will also perform.
The festival, which begins at 4 pm,
will include a multi-coloured ultraviolet paint and fire show.

On July 4 the American Club at
The party will feature live music, a
circus, games and contests, lucky draws, food and drinks. It will also
feature the biggest and Best Lucky-Draw in Ha Noi. More than 100 prizes will
be given out.

Flea Market to support violence

A Charity Flea Market on Sunday will
support the Peace House Shelters for women and children who are victims of
domestic violence and human trafficking.
New and secondhand clothing,
accessories and household items will be accompanied by music performances and
international cuisine. Children can play at the Kid's Corner while parents
shop.
All proceeds go to two shelters
operated by the Centre for Women and Development, a non-profit organisation

Series of events planned to
celebrate Family Day
The E De ethnic group's traditional

"Central Highlands Culture with Matriarchy Family Tradition", will
be organised here between June 25 and 28.
The event will include also a water
worship ceremony, a peace worship ceremony of the E De group and a photo
exhibition on the matriarchy tradition.
The ethnic group's artisans will
showcase their skills in traditional weaving and making musical instruments,
as well as folk songs, dance and games.
The culture, sports and tourism
ministry will host several activities at the Viet Nam Centre for Exhibition,
Culture and Arts,
Entitled "Family Meal: Cosy and
Love", just as the last year, the programme, which will be held from
June 26 to 28, will include a photo exhibition, a workshop on the effect of
social networks on young families today and a cookery contest.
On April 5, 2001, then Prime
Minister Pham Gia Khiem had said June 28 would be celebrated as national
Family Day to enhance the responsibilities of leaders from all sectors,
levels and organisations and individuals to build prosperous, advanced and
happy families. Since then, the day has been celebrated nationwide every
year.
