A young Vietnamese girl with cancer from the northern province
of Hai Duong realized her dream of becoming a flight attendant on Sunday.
Le Nguyen Khanh Linh, 11, a student of Sao Do 2 (Red Star 2)
Elementary school in Hai Duong, had been wishing for an opportunity to board
a plane and become a flight attendant.
Linh, who is a young cancer patient, was being treated at K
Hospital in Hanoi when she was visited by representatives from Jetstar
Pacific, a low-cost Vietnamese carrier, after which her aspiration was
acknowledged.
The little girl was then chosen to be in a show called ‘Dieu
Uoc Thu 7,” literally translated as "The Saturday Wish," which is a
reality show designed by national broadcaster Vietnam Television (VTV) to
help turn the hopes and dreams of Vietnamese people with adversities into a
reality.
The show is aired weekly at 1:00 pm on Saturday on VTV3.
Flag carrier Vietnam Airlines agreed to cooperate with the
program producer and prepared an airplane under maintenance at its
subsidiary, Vietnam Airlines Engineering Company (VAECO), for the show.
Linh underwent basic training sessions carried out by the
experienced chief stewards and teachers at Vietnam Airlines.
On Sunday, Linh, who was dressed in a custom made uniform, saw
her dream realized as she had an opportunity to become a flight attendant for
a day, with the dedicated assistance of other stewardesses.
All people present at the event were touched and burst into
tears at the story of the young Vietnamese girl.
