Ho Chi Minh City releases 200,000 fish into canals

– In response to the World Environment Day (June 5th), 300 people in Ho
Chi Minh City on May 29th released more than 200,000 fish, including
carps, anabas and catfish, into Nhieu Loc – Thi Nghe and Tau Hu – Ben
Nghe canals.
The
activity also aims to mobilize local people to protect and promote
aquatic resources as well as protect the urban environment.
Together
with releasing the fish, the People’s Committee of the city also
instructed units to disseminate the importance of the environment and
ban the use of dynamite, fish shockers and poison to catch fish in the
canals.
