Police in the coastal city of Nha Trang are handling a case in which an Indian national died on the way to a hospital on Tuesday after he had trouble breathing and passed out at his hotel.
At about 2 am yesterday, July 9, Gamesh Chandler Sharma, 76, was in his room at the Hon Tam Bien Resort on Hon Tam Island in Nha Trang Bay when he fainted.
His relatives who were staying with him took him to the mainland and he was then rushed to the Khanh Hoa General Hospital for treatment, but he died on the way.
Concerned agencies completed an autopsy yesterday afternoon and concluded that he had died of cardiovascular disease.

According to his wife and son, Sharma had a history of heart disease and was once treated at Tam Duc Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

Later that day Sharma’s body was handed over to his relatives, who are taking procedures to send the body back to India for burial.
On June 27, a 9-year-old boy, Nguyen Duc Thanh, died in the same resort on the island. Thanh, a native of northern Quang Ninh Province’s Cam Pha District, drowned while swimming in a pool there.
