Da Nang City in central Vietnam has added river cruises to its list of tourist products to lure more international holidaymakers.
The Harems 2 five-star cruise ship, which meets European standards, was officially put into use at Da Nang Port by its operator, Hoang Gia Co., on Sunday.
The three-level vessel, capable of carrying more than 200 people, has a restaurant aboard for cuisine and entertainment activities.
There are also tools and equipment for water games and diving onboard, which tourists can use to play and explore the beautiful beaches and natural landscapes in Da Nang.
“The five-star cruise ship adds to the diverse tourist products now available in Da Nang,” Tran Chi Cuong, deputy director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said.
“It will enable tourists, both domestic and international, to explore the city with a cruise on the iconic Han River.”
The Norwegian-built cruise liner is also expected to offer such services as exploring Da Nang by night, or sight-seeing tours around the Son Tra Peninsula, one of the top attractions in Da Nang.
Overlooking the East Vietnam Sea, the peninsula is known for its tranquility and nature, plus beautiful beaches and great seafood.
Holidaymakers can also travel from Da Nang to the Cu Lao Cham, a famed attraction in neighboring Quang Nam Province, on the Harems 2.
