Excellent overseas guitarist to perform in Hanoi
VietNamNet Bridge - Le Thu – the female guitarist who won many international awards and is now teaching guitar in India will have a joint show with Tuan Khang and Hung Phong at the French Cultural Centre, 24 Trang Tien, Hanoi on the evening of April 18.
Le Thu’s father is a professional painter but he can play the guitar so she heard the sound of guitar when she was in the womb. At the age of 4, the father taught his daughter to play the guitar for the first time. When she was 5 years old, Le Thu performed with her father and the blind guitarist Van Vuong on big stages. At the age of 7, Le Thu became a student of the Vietnam National Academy of Music and studied here for 15 years.
She married an Italian chef and since then the family has lived in several countries. She now lives in India and is the dean of the Guitar Faculty of the Bridege Music Academy.
She won many grand prizes: Outstanding Asian Guitarist in Calcutta, India in November 2010 and two third prizes in international guitar competitions in Thailand and Romania in June 2011. Le Thu performed in many cities in the world, including 17 cities of Turkey, Bulgaria and Malaysia. Her debut album "Le Thu - Guitar Recital" was released in 2011 in India and it is highly appreciated.
This time, Le Thu will reunite Tuan Khang and Hung Phong in the North-South Guitar Exchange No. 9 in Hanoi. They will perform both Vietnamese and international works.
After the show, Le Thu will return to India and then participate in some international guitar competitions in Germany, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.

Returning to Vietnam in 2011, she reunited with the “Super-foursome” in the North-South Exchange. It was the first show of a project named “North-South Guitar Exchange” project, which aims to introduce the best Vietnamese guitarists like Chau Dang Khoa, Nguyen Tri Doan, Cao Hong Ha, Nguyen Van Phuc, Nguyen Thanh Hang, etc. to the audience. The project aims to resume the movement to play guitar in the community.
