Exhibition on Hoang Sa welcomes foreign visitors VietNamNet Bridge - Chairman of Hoang Sa Island District – Mr. Dang Cong Ngu - said that the exhibition of documentary affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa Archipelago (Paracel Islands) will open its doors to foreign tourists on the upcoming holiday (April 30) at the museum of Da Nang City. The 100 year-old map of the Qing Dynasty (China) in which its southernmost land is Hainan Island. This map does not include Vietnam’s Paracel and Spratly Islands.  "Vietnam's Hoang Sa, the historical evidences" is the main theme of the exhibition, which will open for foreign visitors from April 29 through May 15. The exhibition will introduce to foreign tourists valuable materials on Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa archipelago, which come from the research project called "Documents on Vietnam's sovereignty over Hoang Sa Island District, Da Nang City." Among the documents are the maps published in England, Germany, Australia, Canada, the U.S. and Hong Kong ... during the period 1626-1980, collected by Tran Thang, a Vietnamese in the United States, which show that China's southernmost border is Hainan Island, not Hoang Sa. These ancient maps also show that Hoang Sa and Truong Sa are the territories of Vietnam. In particular, the exhibition will showcase three Atlas sets published by China in 1908, 1919 and 1933 which clearly outlined Hainan Island as the southernmost tip of China. All the historical evidences as well as ancient maps in the exhibition will have annotations and notes in English.  There will be a team of English, French, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai interpreters at the exhibition to serve foreign visitors.
