 Vietnam Deputy Prime Minister visits the U.S.

 Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will lead a government delegation to visit the US and participate in the High-ranking Leadership Program at Harvard University from August 21 to 30.

According to the government website, during the visit, Phuc will have bilateral meetings with U.S. politicians.
He will also work with the Office of the US Global AIDS Coordinator, the Office of National Drug Control Policy, the Drug Court, some drug rehabilitation centers and visit the Vietnam delegation to the United Nations.
Also during the visit, Phuc and the senior government delegation of Vietnam will attend the Senior Leadership Program at the Harvard University, with many useful topics from leading professors and experts of the Harvard University in economic, social and legal fields.
The visit will help strengthen mutual understanding, confidence and cooperation in all fields between Vietnam and the US.
The visit takes place after the official visit to the US by President Truong Tan Sang. The two sides have established the new framework of bilateral relations: comprehensive partnership.
One of the important commitments is that the two countries will make efforts to complete the TPP negotiations later this year.
