Nguyen Thai Son, a traffic police officer in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 2, was driving the bike home in plain clothes in Long Thanh My ward in District 9 after patrolling on a nightshift at dawn of January 4. He was set upon and repeatedly beaten by three men and had the bike robbed on a section of the Hanoi Highway in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 9. The robbers drove the bike towards a one-way street and disappeared, said the victim who reported the robbery case to local police officers. Police are tracking down the robbers.
