Game winner receives prize of... brick! TUOITRENEWS    A student in southern Can Tho City played online games on a web site and won a prize of a mobile phone, but what was sent to him was a brick packed in a paper box. Le Khanh Hung, 21, of Can Tho City’s Binh Thuy District, said that in mid-January 2013, he played games rendered by Minh Chau Recreation Joint Stock Company, located in The Thao Hotel in Hanoi’s Thanh Xuan District.  Afte playing a game, Hung was informed by the company that he had won a  Samsung cell phone Galaxy Ace Duos worth VND5 million (US$240). “A staff member from the company phoned me saying that they would send me the prize, but on March 6 when I opened the package sent from the company I was very upset to find a piece of rock inside,” Hung told Tuoi Tre. Hung said he contacted the Can Tho branch of the 247 Joint Stock Company, which delivered the package, and Hoang Cong Tung, head of the branch, made a report to the company’s head office in Hanoi for resolution. Tung said 247 Joint Stock Company received the package from Hanoi-based Dong A Express Delivery Trading Joint Stock Company, which had previously received the package from Minh Chau as the consigner. Tung also said his company did not open the package for examination, so it did not know what was inside it when delivering it to the consignee. Tuoi Tre phoned Dong A Company at its hotline and a man named Duc said the company was re-checking its goods delivery process to find the cause of the strange incident. Similarly, Duc said his company had not examined the goods inside the package before transferring it to the 247 JSC. “Minh Chau declared the goods as normal goods so we were not allowed to examine inside and only transferred the package intact to the consignee. Now that the incident has occurred, we will coordinate with all related parties to identify the cause and responsibility in the case,” Duc said. He also affirmed that “If Dong A is found at fault, we will take responsibility for the incident.” Yesterday a representative of Minh Chau phoned Hung saying that the company was working with Dong A to clarify the case. Minh Chau said it had sent tens of mobile phones as prizes to game winners but no problem had occurred like in this case.
