VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese American director Victor Vu, who is widely known for his film “Blood Letter”, is making a short film on the subject science fiction in Vietnam.
The “Bride War” – part 2 project cannot prevent Victor Vu from coming up with a new challenge: making a film on the subject of science fiction. He says that the idea to make this film is the way to realize his childhood dream.
"I think, with this genre, there is almost no barriers or limits for imagination and human creativity. A vibrant future world, the exotic buildings, super technologies serving the – that is a fascinating topic that I would like to put on the big screen," he says.
Victor Vu says this short film is about a story happening in the future, relating to a secret that is able to affect the survival of humanity. The audience will enjoy and experience a vibrant, modern future world.
"In addition, viewers will not sit to enjoy the movie as before but will be more active in their feelings when interacting with the screen," he adds.
The film is expected to release in mid-April.
Victor Vu, 38, is a Vietnamese American film director and screenwriter. Victor Vu has a track record of successfully tackling a wide range of film genres. Shifting between action, horror, comedy and thriller, he is one of the most prolific filmmakers in Vietnam today. His films have won numerous Golden Kite Awards (Vietnam's equivalent to the Oscars, organized by the Vietnam Cinema Association).
At the 2012 Golden Kite Awards, Vu's period action film, "Blood Letter" took home Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Cinematography and Best Sound. The same year, Victor Vu's thriller, "Scandal” received the Film Critics Award for Best Film and the Golden Kite for Best Supporting Actress. Vu's romantic comedy "Passport to Love" won Audience Choice and Best Supporting Actress at the 2009 Golden Kite Awards.
