Flag raising ceremony marks reunification day
A solemn flag raising ceremony was held at the Hien Luong-Ben Hai historic site in the central province of Quang Tri on April 30.
It was to mark the 38th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam and National Reunification and the 41st anniversary of the liberation of Quang Tri province.
The flag raising ceremony was a chance to honour immortal feats of arms and sacrifice of people in the North and the South as well as traditional historic and revolutionary values of the nation.
Besides, it aimed to uphold the patriotism, revolutionary heroism and solidarity, and affirm great achievements the nation recorded during the struggle for national liberation.
On this occasion, there was a boat race on the Ben Hai river with 12 teams taking part.
