Vietnam’s Got Talent contestant drinks acid by mistake A candidate in the television contest Vietnam's Got Talent accidentally drank acid when a performance of magic went horribly wrong live on VTV3 on January 11. The incident happened during the fourth semi-final night of the programme as Tan Phat was doing a trick. Phat used five cups of odourless, colourless liquid --- four with water, one with acid -- and invited musician Huy Tuan to switch their positions while he turned his back. He was supposed to select a glass of water. Instead, he chose the cup containing acid and took a sip. Judges and the audience immediately saw his reaction; his face paled and he was unable to speak. Phat was rushed to hospital, where he is under close observation. Programme organisers said the trick had worked during rehearsal and could not explain the accident.
