According to Mother Nature, many mesmerizing scenes can be found throughout Southeast Asia, but it would be very regretful if Sapa’s terraced fields of Vietnam were not mentioned. The people have been doing the seemingly impossible for millennia: growing rice – which requires a flat surface and a lot of water – in mountainous areas. The terraced paddy fields not only yield substantial crops of the widely consumed staple, but are also a gorgeous sight to behold. The terraced paddy fields have a different beauty during different periods of time when the rice is evergreen or yellow. Sapa is also home of many ethnic minorities, forming a region of unique culture, attracting many tourists every year.
