-- With a theme of “Sustainable Development Goals: Turning Words into Actions”, the 132nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-132), will take place in Hanoi from March 28 to April 1, with the participation of nearly 2,000 foreign delegates from 150 countries and international organizations. A Hanoi statement detailing the outcomes of the event is also expected to be issued at the end of the event, said the National Assembly Committee for External Relations.

-- As the weather has become hot over the past few days, about 60,000 people including foreigner came to the southern coastal city of Vung Tau for sea bathing on Saturday, the third day of Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday, three times more than that a day earlier, Tuoi Tre(Youth) correspondents reported from the city. All hotel rooms in the city were booked by visitors for Saturday and Sunday. -- About 340 road traffic accidents occurred nationwide over six days of the Tet (Lunar New Year) vacation, from February 15 to 20, killing 199 people and injuring 326 others, the National Traffic Safety Committee reported. On Friday, the second day of Tet (February 20), alone, 65 road traffic accidents were reported across the country, leaving 35 deaths and 89 people injured. Compared to the same period last year, both the numbers of accidents and injured people reduced sharply while the death toll increased, the committee said.

-- The State Bank of Vietnam is required to coordinate with ministries
and localities in regulating the monetary policy in a proactive and flexible
manner, so as to better control of inflation, keep macro-economic stability,
boost economic growth, and support the development of the financial and
securities markets, according to Resolution 01/NQ-CP recently issued by the
Government detailing measures to boost the country's social and economic
development in 2015.
-- The Civil Engineering Construction Joint Stock Company No 545,
located in the central city of Da Nang, has terminated its Tet (Lunar New
Year) holiday soon to resume to work on Saturday (the third day of Tet) to
accelerate the progress of the US$142.8 million project to expand the
National Highway 1A section that runs through the central province of Quang
Nam, which borders the city. The company is striving for completing the work
by April 30, 2015, nine months ahead of the deadline set by the Ministry of
Transport.
