Traffic cop kills 2 militiamen, injures 5 in Vietnam car accident  A police truck tows the BMW away from the accident site The militiamen injured in the accident and their relatives at a local hospital A traffic police officer allegedly crashed his BMW sedan into a group of militiamen on patrol, killing two and injuring five others, in the southern Vietnamese province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau early Saturday. The militiamen from Ngai Giao Town and Lang Lon Commune were reportedly standing by the roadside in Ngai Giao during their joint-patrol at 1 a.m. when Lieutenant Pham Van Tuan of Chau Duc District’s Traffic Division crashed the car into them. The Hanoi-registered four-seater sedan was speeding at the time of the accident, and allowed the militiamen no time to escape being hit, news website VnExpress reported. The crash reportedly sent 10 people and some motorbikes flying into the air. The car sped on, hit several light poles and rolled over before coming to rest on its hood. Tuan reportedly broke open the car window to get out and fled the scene, according to VnExpress. Militiaman Ho Xuan Thu died on the spot while Van Son Dong died on the way to hospital. Five others were seriously injured. A number of motorbikes were badly damaged. The National Committee for Traffic Safety sent a working group to Ba Ria Hospital to visit injured victims and work with local police to investigate the accident.
