All the four women were Vietnam's representatives at the international Miss Universe pageant.  On May 5, the organizers of Miss Universe Vietnam held a press conference to announce the return of the beauty competition after seven years. Duong Truong Thien Ly, national director of Miss Universe organization in Vietnam, said: "We want to create a fair playing field for all candidates, to offer young women opportunities to develop themselves in a professional way. Through the competition, we want to elevate Vietnamese beauty on par with the major powers in the region and the world. Therefore, we have gathered a professional team to organize the event. We also invite KPMG to supervise the semifinals and finals to ensure transparency." The competition will consist of three main rounds. The preliminary round will be held in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in June. The semifinals and finals will take place in Nha Trang from July to August. Also, the finalists will have a photo-shoot in Da Lat City. The final night of the second Miss Universe Vietnam pageant will be organized at the Crown Convention Center, with a capacity of over 7,500 seats in Nha Trang. This place host the Miss Universe 2008. The budget for this beauty contest is estimated at VND30 billion ($1.5 million). Miss Universe Vietnam is open to all young Vietnamese women, aged 18 to 25, with the minimum height of 1.65 m, high school graduate or higher, with no plastic surgery. The jury members have not been announced. The winner of this contest will represent Vietnam at the Miss Universe World 2015. The first Miss Universe was held in 1952 in the United States and took place in different states of this country until 1971. After that, Miss Universe becomes the global beauty pageant. Each year, this competition welcomes contestants from approximately 100 countries and it is watched live by more than one billion viewers worldwide.
