PANO - One of the highlighted contents at the meeting of the Vietnam Art of War Science Council, held on November 29th in Hanoi, was to promote arguments in association with studying reality and developing the art of war of Vietnam.
The meeting was chaired by Senior Lieutenant-General Do Ba Ty, member of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the Military Central Commission, Chief of the General Staff, Deputy Defence Minister and Chairman of Defence Ministry’s Art of War Science Council.
The meeting reviewed the council’s activities for two years from 2011, and discussed upcoming activities.
In 2011-12, the council gave recommendations on science and technology development guidelines and orientations, took part in building National Defence and Military Strategies until 2020, in studying and compiling “Combat regulations of Vietnam People’s Army”, and organized seminars at the Defence Ministry level to anticipate studies of the art of war for every year and a longer period, meeting the requirements on building the army and consolidating national defence.
At the meeting, a program, themed “Studies of the development of how to fight, and renovation of training for troops and militia, while applying results of approved studies in new combat conditions,” was also discussed as a necessity.
The council asked the program’s executive board to add and adjust the program as appropriate to a possible future war, and to push up the implementation of this program with a view to renovating and improving the quality in training troops and militia in the future.
