VN, Japan’s IT second largest partner

Viet Nam has maintained its status as  Japan’s second largest partner in terms of information technology since 2012 and the most favorite partner of Japanese businesses, according to the latest Information Technology Promotion Agency (IPA)’s report

The report said up to 31.5% of surveyed Japanese businesses selected Viet Nam while 20.6% favored India and 16.7% chose China.
Besides its advantages in culture, the low-cost human resource is said a crucial factor attracting Japanese investors to Viet Nam.
The report was released at the 8th Japan Information and Communications Day (Japan ICT Day 2014) in Ha Noi on October 30.
Two major issues discussed at the events included “Viet Nam-Japan ICT Collaboration”, including ICT human resource for Viet Nam-Japan cooperation and collaboration between the two countries in big projects.
Earlier in late May this year, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) committed to financing JPY60 million for a project to develop competitive human resources for the information technology (IT) sector in Ha Noi between 2014 and 2016.
The project will be carried out by the Viet Nam Software and Information Technology Services Association (VINASA) and Japan’s Sapporo IT Front-SITF organization.
It helps build and run training programs for Vietnamese engineers in IT businesses. It aims to train 10 trainers and more than 130 engineers from universities and businesses across Ha Noi.
