 Binh Phuoc Chairman faces dismissal

VietNamNet Bridge - At the 16th meeting of the Central Inspection Committee on November 12-19, the committee gave a warning against the Chairman of Binh Phuoc Province, Truong Tan Thieu, and proposed to dismiss him from the chairmanship.

Mr. Truong Tan Thieu (standing), Deputy Secretary of Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Binh Phuoc People’s Committee has to serve a warning from the Central Inspection Committee.

The committee also asked the Party Secretary of Hai Duong Province, Mr. Bui Thanh Quyen, to draw on experience from his son purchase and use of land.

According to the committee, Mr. Truong Tan Thieu, Deputy Secretary of Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Binh Phuoc People’s Committee repeatedly violated the principle on democratic centralism, the working regulations of the Binh Phuoc Province Party Committee and the People’s Committee; was irresponsible in implementing his leadership and management; signed a number of decisions that were contrary to the law, causing budget losses and serious consequences.

The committee gave a warning against Thieu and asked relevant bodies to dismiss him from the Chairmanship of Binh Phuoc People’s Committee.

The committee also defined that Bui Thanh Tung, the son of Mr. Bui Thanh Quyen, member of the Party Central Committee, Party Secretary of Hai Duong, is the owner of 4,152sq.m of land and some construction works in Dong Tan hamlet, Ninh Thanh commune, Ninh Giang district, Hai Duong province.

At the time of inspection, Tung invested over VND4 billion ($200,000) in the land and construction works.

The committee identified that the rocks in Tung’s garden are not precious or semi-precious stones and the trees in his garden are not on the list of endangered, precious and rare plants.

It is also identified that the Ninh Giang District People's Committee granted the land use right certificate for Tung under the law. However, the transfer of 500m2 of land for aquaculture into housing land is contrary to Article 31 of the Land Law 2003.

Through the inspection, there is no evidence to conclude that Mr. Bui Thanh Quyen involved in the transfer of land to Tung so there is no basis to conclude that Quyen violated Article 11 of the Rules of the Central Party Committee on the things that party members are not permitted to do.

However, Quyen was asked to learn from experience and make self-criticism seriously from this case.

The committee requested the Hai Duong Provincial Party Standing Committee to direct serious criticism for the organization or individual involving in the case.
