A group of young people in Hanoi have devised an idea for having a local goldsmith make a golden Flappy Bird with the proceeds going to finance charity operations.

With the support of the creator of the game, Nguyen Ha Dong, a group of young people called N3D decided to create a solid Flappy Bird from 14K gold with a weight of 85.23 grams.
Nguyen Khoa Duc, a member of the N3D group, said, “This is a first, and a unique product based on a 2D drawing. It was hand-made by a skillful craftsman, who spent a week on making it.”
Right after being auctioned on Webstore, the product received many responses from the world community and attracted a total of 11,000 views after three days.
Even though there have been several Flappy Bird products and imitations, this is the first one made in Vietnam.
Nguyen Trung Duc, another member of N3D, said, “Our intention is to create a product that brings about social benefits for our country. We sent out detailed plans to the game’s creator Nguyen Ha Dong and received his support.”
All members of the group are avid fans of the game and its creator. “We want to be among the first to promote Vietnam’s image in the world through this kind of hand-made product,” Tran Duy Nhat, another member of N3D, commented.
The group intends on selling the product to those who offer the highest bid by March 31. Several people have already made bids for the product, which is now at around USD1,200, but the group expects a price closer to USD7,000.
They plan to use all revenues from the sale to provide a grant to support victims of dioxin/agent orange as well as the disadvantaged across Vietnam.
