are seen outside the villa where the family was found dead in
A wood processing magnate and five
of his family members were found dead in an apparent massacre in the southern
Quoc Anh, 47, his wife, Nguyen Thi
Anh Nguyet, and three other people were found unresponsive inside their villa
in Chon Thanh District at 6:00 am, according to initial information.
The villa is surrounded by high
walls, whereas his wood processing facility is located next to the house.
The six slain people are the couple,
their 22-year-old oldest daughter, 16-year-old son, 18-year-old niece and
16-year-old nephew, a Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper correspondent
reported from the scene.

The nephew was found dead near the
fence. He was earlier said to be only around ten years old.
A 1.5-year-old girl, identified as
the youngest child of Anh, survived the massacre, according to a source close
to Tuoi Tre.
At 7:00 am, the family’s housemaid
came to begin her work when she found the corpse of the 16-year-old nephew
near the villa’s gate, according to Do Viet Hung, 42, who claimed to witness
the incident.
The maid found the other five dead
as she entered the house. She shouted to alert the wood processing workers,
who called police officers shortly after that.

Tran Thang Phuc, director of the
Binh Phuoc police department, is leading the investigation.
“The massacre must have been
pre-planned and carried out by many people,” an on-site police officer told Tuoi
Tre on the phone.
“The culprits must have come from
other localities, not local residents.”
Police are still investigating.
The Quoc Anh family was known as one
of the richest in the district, and the wood processing facility, with around
100 workers, is among the largest of its kind in Binh Phuoc.
