Foreigners hang out of taxi window to drink beer in Ho Chi Minh City

Three Western tourists apparently failed to resist the craving for drinking when they threw a party on board a running taxi in the downtown area of Ho Chi Minh City, shocking passers-by and Internet users, as photos of the ugly act immediately went viral online.
The foreigners, whose nationality is unidentified, are seen hanging out of the windows of the moving cab in what is said to be Ton Duc Thang Street in District 1, according to the pictures, purportedly captured on December 3.
They put cans of what appear to be beer on the roof of the taxi, and seemed drinking, smoking, and chatting leisurely as if they were partying in a restaurant rather than a cab.

What leaves Internet users most surprised is that the driver of the seven-seater cab seemed not want to displease his customers, as he kept driving forward with the three hanging out of the windows drinking.
If the cab had been pulled over by traffic police, it was the cabby who would be fined for violating traffic rules, locals said on Facebook.
“It does not matter what kind of beverage they were drinking, as they did not drive the cab after all, but the act of hanging out of the windows is inacceptable,” a user nicknamed wind_slash posted on Vitalk.vn, an online forum for Vietnamese netizens.
“They were causing danger for themselves and passers-by, and it is hard to understand why the taxi driver took no action.”
