PetroVietnam tops Vietnamese company earnings for 2013
                                  
The Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) earned revenues of more than VND772 trillion (USD37 billion) in 2013, topping domestic companies for the year.

Vietnam Report Joint Stock Company has released a list of Vietnam’s top 500 largest enterprises (VNR500) in 2013.
With the USD37-billion revenues, PetroVietnam came out around the 300th in Fortune Global 500.
The remaining six, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), Samsung Vietnam, Vietnam Military Telecommunications Group (Viettel), Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), VietsoPetro and Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex), earned total revenues of more than VND100 trillion in 2013, equal to the position of the 500th in the list.
Among Vietnam’s top 500 companies in 2013, as listed by Vietnam Report JS Company, state-owned firms account for more than 62% of the total revenues, showing the state-owned sector’s domination in the national economy. Followed by the private sector, with 19.4% and and foreign-invested sector with 18.5%.
According to VNR500, since 2007, the minimum revenues for top 500 largest enterprises of Vietnam have grown annually, except for 2012 when the local property was frozen.
The industrial sector did particularly well, and a number of those companies listed in the top 500 largest companies in Vietnam. It also has seen the highest revenues in 2013. The runners-up were service and agro-forestry-fishery.
