 Vietnam among countries with the lowest unemployment rates

 Although the unemployment rate increased slightly from 1.81% to 1.9% over the same period of 2012, Vietnam is still among the countries with the lowest unemployment rates across the globe.

That is the information provided by the International Labor Organization (ILO) on 21/1, on the occasion of the publication of the Global Employment Trends 2014.
According to the general report of the ILO, the global unemployment in 2013 was nearly 202 million people, job growth remained weak and unemployment continued to rise, especially the groups of young workers.
In the context of slow recovery of the global economy, the world labor market could not be improved. In Vietnam, unemployment increased slightly increased in 2013, with the vulnerable employment rate higher.
ILO Director-General Guy Ryder said, surveys and statistics showed that employment prospects in Vietnam were positive. Specifically, the survey of employment in the fourth quarter 2013, conducted by the Vietnam General Department of Statistics and ILO, revealed that the number of jobs rose by 862,000 - i.e. 1.7% - in the 4th quarter 2013 compared to the same period last year. The fastest job growth belonged to the foreign-invested sector, with 4.8% more than 2012. Most of the new jobs were created in the service, industry and construction sectors.
However, the unemployment rate among young workers was over 3 times higher over the common unemployment rate, at 5.95% in Q4 2013 but it was much lower than the world’s, which was 13%.

- The labor force in the fourth quarter 2013 increased by nearly 1 million people, equivalent to 1.73% compared to the same period in 2012.
- The number of jobs increased 1.7%, mainly in the service, industry and construction sectors.
-    The unemployment rate rose from 1.81% to 1.9%.
-    Youth unemployment rate (15-24 years old) increased from 5.29% to 5.95%.
