Vietnamese Kinh ethnic minority people in China
(VOV) - Despite migrating to China more than 500 years ago, Kinh ethnic minority people still preserve their traditional Vietnamese cultural identity.
According to legend the first Kinh people who arrived in China were from Do Son in Vietnam’s Haiphong province and today, there are 17,936 descendants primarily living in or around the coastal area of Dongxing, Guangxi.
They have their own language, writing scripts, costumes, jewelry, holiday, Tet and religion.
Their customs and unique culture are closely related to sea.
They built an ecological museum where protects and inherits culture.
Their costumes are simple but beautiful and suitable with environment, geography and climate.
