Traditional chung cake making village
faces difficulties
Tranh Khuc, a traditional
chung cake making village, in Hanoi is facing difficulties due to a sharp
fall in demand, particularly as many households in the village have not yet
received a food safety certificate.
As Tet is nearing, the village becomes busier with people
transporting fresh phrynium and materials to make the cakes. However unlike
previous years, this year the number of customers who reserve theirs in
advance has dropped by half.
