These officers were in charge of security screening of goods at the airport warehouse. These four employees were certified with screening equipment operation and also seniority in the profession.
The police have summoned a lot of people from the units relating to this serious case.
On November 17, the Taiwanese authorities arrested seven suspects and seized 229kg of heroin worth $300 million, covered with chocolate and hidden in 12 speakers, then transported from HCM City to Taiwan in a cargo aircraft of China Airlines (Taiwan).
An official of the General Administration of Customs confirmed that the speakers were loaded at the Tan Son Nhat Airport. The customs agency is working with security agencies of Vietnam and Taiwan to expand investigation.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked the Ministry of Public Security to coordinate with relevant agencies at home and abroad to urgently verify and clarify the origin of huge volume of heroin.
The Le Hoa Trading & Forwarding Company confirmed that they are only the transport agent, not the owner of the heroin batch, and it refused to disclose the name of the owner.
