Plans are in the works to expand the
Tan Son Nhat International Airport to the largest possible scale, the
Airports Corporation of
ACV general director Le Manh Hung said his company has
begun to work on a plan to enable the Ho Chi Minh City-based terminal to
better service an increasing number of passengers.
A project to build the
According to the plan, the international terminal at
Tan Son Nhat was expected to receive its 20 millionth
passenger in 2015, but the target was reached two years earlier in late 2013.
At its busiest, the airport serves as many as 550
flights per day.
At a recent meeting, Minister of Transport Dinh La
Thang suggested that ACV call for private sectors to invest in several units
such as parking lots at the airport.
