This year exhibition is titled Freespace to describe a generosity of spirit and a sense of humanity, focusing on the quality of space itself. There are 63 national pavilions at this year exhibition held by La Biennale di Venezia, one of the world’s most famous and prestigious cultural organisations, from May 26 to November 25.

Architect Vo Trong Nghia brought the Bamboo Stalactite pavilion to the Biennale that has a simple design and low budget. It was completed in just 25 days with help from eight engineers and architects from both Vietnam and Italy.

The structure includes 11 modules. The bamboo was prepared in Vietnam and assembled in Italy. The flexibility of the bamboo and structure help create multiple shapes for a relaxing place under the sun even in the city or rural areas.

It is one of the highlights for small spaces as it can be assembled in schools, museums or in public parks.
